This design of bearing incorporates state-of-the-art in bearing technology.  A magnetic bearing is a electro magnetic device which maintains the relative position of a rotating assembly with respect to a stationary part and features a unique RDS (rotor delevitation system) for machine protection and digital controls.  The canned bearing design can operate in high pressure and corrosive environments, avoiding the need for seals and lubrication systems.  Both journal and thrust designs can be incorporated.
